Eden Galan, BA

Eden first joined Learn, Empower, Grow as a Program Support Specialist Intern where she applied her administrative and Spanish-speaking skills to translate resources for educators and families and create social media content, among other duties.

 

After graduation, Eden stayed onboard as a social media specialist who manages our social media platforms on Twitter and Instagram. Eden has over 13 years of experience in providing administrative support and project coordination in diverse industries. Eden holds a BA in psychology from Holy Family University and plans to pursue a master’s in school counseling.

 

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Eden is committed to making a positive difference in her community through volunteering. Most recently, Eden has volunteered as a Philly Reading Coach to elementary students and has mentored neurodiverse students in the School District of Philadelphia. In her free time, Eden enjoys taking her children to the latest local events involving literacy, education, and cultural diversity. Eden also enjoys singing, reading, and spending time in nature.

Kevin Hubbard, M.Ed., L.P.C

Therapeutic Wellness Specialist

Kevin Hubbard attended Temple University for both his bachelor’s degree in psychology, as well as his master’s degree in counseling psychology. Kevin is a licensed professional counselor in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Kevin is a Certified Mindfulness-Informed Professional. He is also trained in EMDR. Kevin has made it his career to work in under-served communities of color, including those individuals with limited access to quality mental and behavioral health care. 

 

Kevin’s philosophy of care is that therapy is a process that promotes change and healing. People who struggle with life stressors are not alone in their struggles. He believes that no issue is too great for an individual to overcome if they are willing to put forth the effort and energy that it takes to confront issues head on. Kevin provides therapy, training and supervision for other mental health professionals, mental health consulting, and conducts group mindfulness coaching. 

Regina Robinson, MA

Adult Basic Education/Basic Writing Workshop Instructor

Regina Robinson, MA, is the president of RM Robinson Solutions LLC (RMRS). The company consults in the workplace, elementary, and early childhood educational fields. RMRS is certified by New York State as a Minority and Women-Owned Business 

Enterprise (MWBE).

 

Ms. Robinson became an educator after a successful 15-year career in national syndicated radio promotions and sales. She now specializes in effective classroom instruction, curriculum development, product design, and project management for a variety of organizations. Her expertise is in the language skills (speaking, writing, listening, and reading) and workplace success (leadership, time management, conflict resolution, etc.). 

 

In addition, she is adept at managing complex projects and initiatives such as the multi-media, multi-site Kindred Voices: The Workers Writing Project as well as delivering engaging online basic writing workshops for Childcare Development Associates. Ms. Robinson also uses her passion for African American history to create curricula and activities for elementary school students, teachers, and local historic sites.

LaVerne Price, M. Ed. 

CDA Coach

LaVerne Price is an educator by trade. She has worked with children and adults in various capacities during her 25 year career. LaVerne has received a Master's degree in Education from Chestnut Hill College, followed by a Certificate in Human Services Administration. Over the course of her career, she has held roles of leadership, including Department Lead, Center Director, Education Manager, Trainer, and Consultant.  Also, LaVerne became a certified Speaker, Trainer, and Coach with the John Maxwell Team in March 2021. Her greatest passion is serving people and being there for them when they need it.

Tola Aiyegbusi, MSODL

Program Support Specialist & CPR/First Aid Instructor

Tola has over 27 years of experience as proprietor, trainer, coach, in the field of Early Childhood, Out of School Time, Educational Programs, Organizational Development, and Leadership consulting. Her core work focus is to collaborate, build relationship, show, train and develop leaders. I enjoy sharing resources to equip early childhood practitioners, teachers, educators, families, and proprietors. Tola's work is to support education in its diverse and multifaceted characteristic, to enhance care and services provided to children of all ages and including special and able friends, accept the behavioral challenges in early learning environment programs and offer supports and clarification to teachers in and how to care for each child in our inclusive learning spaces.

A graduate of Lagos Anglican Girls Grammar school. Earned degree in Food Science from South Bank Polytechnic in London, England, Food Marketing from Saint Joseph’s University in Pennsylvania USA, Masters in Science in Organizational Development and Leadership at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Certifications in the field of Early Childhood Education, Adult Education and Trauma Inform Application and Practices, Mental Health certification in youth and Adult.

Lizette Reid, M.Ed.

CPR/First Aid Instructor & CDA Instructor

Lizette Reid M.Ed., CDA Catalyst, Coach, distinguished Educator, Professional Development Specialist, Author, Adjunct Professor, Entrepreneur, and Sickle Cell Advocate. Her areas of expertise include; creating innovating learning experiences for early childhood professionals, childcare startups, verifying Child Development Associate (CDA)candidates, identifying strategies for professional growth in companies, increasing knowledge through application with the CDA, conducting First Aid/CPR training, and Sickle Cell Thalassemia awareness. 

 

During Lizette’s 20 plus years in the Early Childhood Education field, she has been employed in every position in childcare as well as assisted in opening multiple childcare facilities. Lizette served as the CEO of her own STAR 4 child care facility for 10 years. Lizette coaches child care owners on how to bring the CDA alive in their classrooms with STYLE: Standards that Yield Learning Excellence.

She is passionate about spending time with her husband of 16 years, and their 3 teenage children.

Through advanced training and over two decades of experience Lizette was able to birth her consultant agency Diapers To Destiny! As the CEO of Diapers To Destiny Lizette is dedicated to STYLE! Helping childcare professionals reach Standards That Yield Learning Excellence through the CDA!

Stefanie Adorno, M.Ed., MSOL

Bilingual CDA Instructor

Stefanie Adorno has worked with adults and children for over 15 years. She attended Pierce College in Philadelphia and received her Masters in Organizational leadership. Understanding that Early Childhood Education was her calling, she pursued her Masters of Education at Arcadia University with a focus in ECE. Stefanie is the owner and Administrator of a childcare center in North Philadelphia focusing on bilingual early education. 

 

As a first generation college graduate originally born in Puerto Rico, she believes that everyone deserves the opportunity of an education regardless of background. This philosophy also led her to serve as an adjunct professor teaching CDA and ECE courses in Spanish at a local college and is a bilingual CDA Verification Specialist. She is passionate about inspiring early learning professionals, building leadership capacity which in turn enhances quality in programs that support children and families. 

 

In her free time, Stefanie enjoys running in local charity races, reading thriller books, and spending quality time with her husband and 2 children. 

Dr. Wanda L. Miles

Student Success Coordinator

Dr. Wanda L. Miles has currently served 15 years as a Government employee in the Department

of Health and Human Services. Prior to her Federal Government career she was an Education

Administrator for a local Head Start program for 12 years. Dr. Miles has worked in the field of

Early Childhood Education for over 3 decades with Leadership, Education and Adult Learning

Theory. Her experience includes teaching in Philadelphia’s Public Schools, Higher Education,

Private and Catholic Schools, Childcare and Head Start programs. In addition Dr. Miles serves as an Adjunct Professor at Harcum College for the past 13 years. She is an advocate for equal

access to education for children and families. As an Adjunct Professor she enjoys teaching,

mentoring and interacting with the adult learners. Dr. Miles is an active member of several

public service organizations and is a proud member of the national organization of Delta Sigma

Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Dr. Miles received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Lincoln

University in Pennsylvania, Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Cheyney University

in Pennsylvania, and a Doctorate Degree in Leadership, Education and Adult Learning Theory

from Capella University in Minnesota. She is married to Rodger Alan Woodruff II a Major in the

United States Army.
